Point Roadknight Ocean Challenge

The Point Roadknight Ocean Challenge (PROC 24) is hosted by Paddle Victoria Ocean Paddling in conjunction with the Geelong Canoe Club.

The challenge is open to ocean skis, sea kayaks, surf skis, outriggers, SUPS and prone boards.

2024 Point Roadknight Ocean Challenge, Point Roadknight, Angelsea - Saturday 16 November
 
Check-in: 9.00am to 9.30am. Paddler briefing 9:45am. Racing starts 10:30am. 

Entry fees are $40 per adult and $30 per junior for Paddle Vic/Australia members. Non members are welcome to enter and an additional Paddle Australia single fee charge will be applied to cover insurances of $24 per adult and $12 per junior.
 
This is a designated open water event. Craft must be suitable for open water and carry the relevant buoyancy, and is open to ocean racing skis, spec skis, sea kayaks, outriggers, stand up paddle boards and prone boards. Single and two person craft are welcome. Each paddler must register. 
 
The race is a lap course, over 7km, 12km or 16km distance. You may choose the distance you wish to paddle - however, SUPs and Prone Boards and Juniors are requested to only enter the 7km or 12 km distance. Other paddlers, please do not choose the 16km distance unless you can paddle at greater than 9 km/hr over that distance. 
 
Wearing of an approved high vis Life Jacket / PFD (personal flotation device) and use of a leg leash is mandatory for this event for all craft except outrigger and sea kayaks. It is optional to carry an orange day smoke flare. It is advised to wear warm clothing suitable for cold water immersion.  You must be able to remount your craft in the case of capsize. 

All paddlers will be required to pass through a safety checkpoint prior to entering the water.
