A five-day course for children aged 8 - 16 years
Monday 7 April to Friday 11 April 2025
From 9:00am to 12:00pm (3 hours daily)
Geelong Canoe Club is running a five-day Kayaking4Kids course during the April school holidays. Participants will have the opportunity to learn kayaking skills in a fun and safe environment, using the Paddle Victoria's Paddle Power program. Each day will involve different activities to help build paddling skills on sit-on-top kayaks. Participants will be exposed to various games, canoe polo and the opportunity to take part in an expedition up the river.
The Kayaking4Kids April Holiday Program is suitable for children aged 8 - 16 years. Participants do not require previous experience paddling, however, they need to be able to swim short distances. Return participants or those already involved with the Kayaking4Kids Program will be further challenged in their paddling and leadership skills.
The program will be adapted to cater for the conditions so we can ensure participants do not miss out.
All instructors are qualified with Paddle Australia, have current Working With Children Checks, and are trained in First Aid.
COST
This covers insurance with Paddle Australia, instruction by our qualified and experienced instructors, and use of crafts, paddles, life vests and helmets.
